Yogyakarta — Apikri, in collaboration with Fair Trade Yogyakarta, conducted a Zoom meeting to explore potential partnership opportunities on Monday afternoon, 2 February 2026. The virtual discussion was attended by representatives of Fair Trade Yogyakarta, the board members of Apikri, and delegates from the Komite Ekonomi Kreatif Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in the creative sector, particularly in developing the economic potential of local wood resources.
One of the key topics discussed was the possibility of organizing technical training related to the utilization and processing of “Galam” wood, a timber resource widely found in South Kalimantan. Participants exchanged insights on its characteristics, sustainability aspects, and design potential for export-oriented handicraft products. The initiative aims to empower local artisans while expanding innovative material options for Apikri’s product lines in the global fair trade market.
As a follow-up to the meeting, representatives conducted a direct visit to Apikri’s office and workshop, where they provided samples of Galam wood to Apikri’s design team. The samples will be studied and tested for product development purposes. This collaboration marks a promising step toward building sustainable partnerships that connect regional resources, creative communities, and fair trade networks for mutual growth and impact.
