Yogyakarta, Indonesia – Apikri played host to a technical training program for officers of the UPT (Unit Pelayanan Teknis) from Southeast Maluku Regency from November 21 to 24, 2024. The event aimed to enhance the capacities of UPT officers by providing hands-on learning experiences. Participants engaged directly with Apikri’s operations and visited the Giriloyo Batik craft center in Bantul to gain insights into sustainable craft production.

Dwi Suharyanto, the training coordinator, emphasized the importance of the program in equipping the participants with practical knowledge. "This program is designed to help UPT officers develop the skills and understanding needed to foster local craft industries in Southeast Maluku," he explained. Through interactive sessions at Apikri and exposure to the rich batik-making traditions of Giriloyo, participants gained valuable insights into both production techniques and market strategies.

The training reflects Apikri’s ongoing commitment to promoting the growth of Indonesia’s craft industry. By hosting initiatives like this, Apikri not only strengthens the capabilities of local stakeholders but also highlights the importance of preserving and innovating traditional crafts.
