On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, a female representative from one of Apikri’s European buyers visited the Apikri office in Yogyakarta. The main goal of her visit was to directly examine the quality of wooden product samples that had recently been crafted by Apikri artisans. Her presence was warmly received by four operational staff members and board representatives.
The visit served as an important moment for both parties to build stronger trust and communication. The Apikri team guided the buyer through a product review session, where she closely inspected the materials, finishing, and craftsmanship of each item. This hands-on evaluation gave her a better understanding of the quality control process that Apikri applies in every production stage.
According to Inung, who is in charge of sales at Apikri, the buyer expressed strong interest in natural wood products, particularly Apikri’s eco-friendly coffins. This product line has attracted attention in Europe due to its sustainability and use of environmentally friendly materials. Discussions also included possible product customization to suit market preferences abroad.
Inung added that the buyer seemed enthusiastic about continuing and possibly expanding future orders. The dialogue between both parties touched on long-term collaboration and shipment planning, showing positive signs for stronger cooperation going forward. The buyer also gave valuable feedback to support product development for the European market.
Apikri hopes that this visit will lead to more regular and larger orders in the near future. By maintaining high-quality standards and sustainable production practices, Apikri aims to further grow its presence in the global market, while continuing to support local artisans and fair trade principles.
